iTransit Editions Pricing (Native App)

Hi all,

Work is well underway for the Native iTransit application, but there are still a few things undecided.

We know that there will be two versions of the application released:

Free Version

There will be a free or "lite" version, which will contain pretty much all of the existing functionality of the web application. (Still undecided about the traffic conditions until I talk to VicRoads)

"Pro" Version

There will also be a "pro" version, for want of a better name. It will be the same as the free version but with additional bonus features. Several of which we know already, some more that we're still considering.

The "pro" version is also a way of supporting additional development - we do this because we love it and we use the software too, but covering development costs is always a plus

So, what would people be willing to pay for a "pro" version? Vote in the poll to the right, leave a comment, or hit us up via twitter.

Probably $2-$5 would be good, depending on what the "extras" are, and how different the two editions are. I'd be happy to pay.

One thing:

please call the standard version "iTransit" and the pro version "iTransit Pro" or similar

I hate apps that are "lite"

Regular or supersize - not small or regular

I'm not too keen on the term Pro either. So we'll have to come up with something else for the names

i think you should name it "iTransit lite" and "iTransit" - make people pay to get rid of the word "lite"

at the moment i would pay $3

the amount of extras will also change the price i will pay

i want to see the entire timetable stored on the actual phone - with updates pushed - if possible

I'll pop up the post on the blog that previews what will be included in the native apps. But you will be able to pick/choose which timetables you want to keep stored on your phone (there is a lot of data there - if you want it you can store it locally, but most people would only want a subset, any data that's missing is grabbed from the server (unless you turn that off).
